Merle Haggard’s Christmas Present is the 18^th studio album by Merle Haggard, released in 1973 on Capitol Records. The original vinyl release of the album was subtitled Something Old, Something New. The album is composed of Haggard originals as well as classic holiday songs like “White Christmas” and “Jingle Bells”. The Haggard-penned single “If We Make It Through December” spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart during the holiday season of 1973 and was the #2 song of the year on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles 1974 year-end chart.
